A poignant assignment rounded off another busy month for the team who have been here, there and everywhere.
A poignant assignment rounded off another busy month for the team who have been here, there and everywhere.
Two of the team were assisting the Royal British Legion during the VJ Day commemorations at the National Memorial Arboretum on August 15.
Project Manager Beck Martin and Project Executive Sam Baldwin certainly had a day to remember in Northamptonshire where there were 33 Second World War veterans marking the 80th anniversary of VJ Day.
Beck said:
“It was so emotional, an incredible and humbling experience for everyone involved. I felt very proud to be able to do my part in looking after the veterans and RBL staff and it was the proudest moment of my working career by far. I was lucky enough to work on the Festival of Remembrance last year, and again this year, and I feel very grateful to work with such an amazing team at RBL. I will always be overwhelmed by the fact an 104-year-old war veteran said thank you to me and Sam for our hard work? He fought for the country and he thanked us? I will never be able to comprehend how someone of such calibre, strength and poise could thank me for a smile in the morning and a giggle over our lunch. It was honestly an event I will never forget.”
Other members of the team rounded off a fortnight in Southampton overseeing a successful university summer graduation programme, which was soon followed by a site visit to London, as well as assisting a client during The Open Championship at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland.
We also had a site visit for a client in Manchester, while one of the team took part in the latest Talent Academy, this time in Sheffield.
There were a number of other site visits squeezed into our busy schedule too while three members of the team were out in Berlin with a client to give on-site support for a three-day leadership conference for 120 delegates.
And there’s plenty more coming up in our diary for the coming month!
