Planning an employee celebration with a special guest may not sound like something out of the ordinary. But when you factor in we’re doing the organising and that Concorde is the special guest – with the invited employees dining and dancing under its wings - then it’s a different matter!
Brighter was asked to organise the recent Rolls-Royce Turbines Long Service Awards which took place at Aerospace Bristol.
The night was designed to celebrate employees completing between 5 and 50 years’ service at Rolls-Royce. With nearing 200 people present, we worked with the venue in the run up to the event and the client decided that they wanted the night to be a casual affair, so guests could relax and enjoy the evening with friends and family while celebrating their milestones.
Our Project Manager Claire Robertson said:
“The event went better than we could have ever expected! Service on the evening was first-class and the food was really good. There were plenty of celebration drinks throughout the night and dancing went on until the lights came up!
Before the event, a registration website was built to capture guest details such as dietary requirements, in case of emergency details and guest information. All these details were shared with the team at Aerospace Bristol ahead of the event to ensure it all went smoothly.
On the evening of the event guests were greeted and handed tokens to exchange for a welcome drink, a choice of wines, spirts, beers or a soft drink. They then made their way up the stairs to the balcony for a photo opportunity in front of the nose of Concorde before stepping on to the plane to take a tour with one of the guides on hand.
After experiencing being onboard Concorde guests were then free to relax with their drinks on the balcony until a short speech took place on the stage downstairs congratulating those celebrating their long service and inviting everybody down to take a seat at a table set up beneath the plane for the celebration dinner.
Tables were set with red and white wine for guests to help themselves to, along with a gift of chocolates and a miniature spirit drink. Due to licencing rules, the spirits were not allowed to be consumed on-site so ahead of the event the Brighter team created mini “Take me home” tags to put around the bottles.
After dinner was served the drinks continued to flow from the bar, wine on the tables was replenished and guests had further photo opportunities with light up numbers in and around Concorde.
The DJ then took to the stage and after a short while guests filled the dance floor and danced until the evening ended at midnight.
It sounds like it was a night to remember!
Most importantly, Rolls Royce were happy with our latest event for them.
They messaged the team afterwards to say:
“Just a note to say thank you for all your efforts and support with Friday’s event. It went so well and exceeded expectations, thank you for ensuring the evening went as smoothly as it did. Hope you had a restful weekend to recover!”
