From a high-spec live music venue inside one of London’s most recognisable landmarks to a creative Manchester campus and a new Mediterranean hotel with serious event credentials, this month’s Venue Spotlight is all about places that bring energy, flexibility and a memorable sense of place.

Apple Music Hall, London

Nobody remembers an event because the sound system was simply ‘good enough’. If you want production to become part of the experience, Apple Music Hall brings arena-level technology into an intimate 600-capacity setting at Battersea Power Station.

Inspired by its landmark surroundings, the venue combines heritage brickwork, fluted arches and bronze balconies with a dramatic glass wall overlooking the concourse and River Thames. The result is unmistakably contemporary without losing the character of the building – a strong backdrop for live performances, launches and exclusive brand experiences.

At the centre is a 38-foot-wide stage that can be configured front-facing or in the round, supported by a 48-speaker spatial sound system. Behind it, two professional recording and mixing studios can capture performances as multitrack recordings and mix them in Spatial Audio. With infrastructure for more than 16 cameras and a dedicated broadcast control room, shows can also be filmed and livestreamed with broadcast-ready quality.

For planners, that combination of intimacy and production power opens exciting possibilities – from artist showcases and client entertainment to immersive product launches and content-led events designed to reach an audience well beyond the room.

Campfield, Manchester

Some venues give you a room. Campfield gives you an ecosystem. Set across Manchester’s historic market halls, this connected tech, media and creative campus is designed for companies that want to meet, make, experiment and share ideas in one distinctive place.

Its mix of meeting rooms, presentation spaces, creative studios, podcast facilities, production infrastructure, exhibition areas, lounges, café and bar makes it particularly suited to workshops, talks, networking events, launches, screenings and content-led activations. The central atrium at Campfield House can host up to 360 guests across two levels, creating a flexible focal point with plenty of visual impact.

Campfield Studios adds another layer for ambitious productions. Housed within Upper Campfield Market Hall, it combines a central atrium and large-format LED wall with a ground-floor studio featuring interchangeable backdrops and professional lighting, plus three daylight studios on the mezzanine. That means presentations, filming, photoshoots and live programming can sit together under one roof.

Located in the St John’s neighbourhood, close to Deansgate, Spinningfields and Deansgate-Castlefield tram stop, the campus is well placed for city-centre delegates. For organisations bringing together innovation, culture and community, Campfield offers far more personality than a conventional conference setting.

Hard Rock Hotel, Malta

If your next event needs sunshine, sea views and a little more attitude, Hard Rock Hotel Malta offers a fresh option for meetings and incentives in St George’s Bay.

The hotel provides 1,350m² of flexible event space across seven dynamic meeting areas. Its pillar-free 466m² Melodia Ballroom can accommodate up to 380 guests, giving planners a strong setting for conferences, gala dinners, product launches and high-impact presentations. A 219m² pre-function area supports registration, networking and drinks receptions, while the divisible Sonata Conference space and smaller Skala and Tempo rooms work well for breakouts, workshops and executive sessions.

High-speed wired and wireless internet, AV technical support, professional planning, bespoke catering, curated event playlists and custom gifting options help teams shape an experience around their brand. Rooftop terraces with panoramic bay views, pool areas and outdoor spaces also create memorable settings for receptions and incentive moments away from the meeting room.

With hundreds of bedrooms and suites on site, and Malta International Airport around a 20-minute transfer away, the hotel makes it easier to keep an international programme connected from arrival to departure. Add the culture of Valletta and Mdina, the Mediterranean setting and Hard Rock’s music-led personality, and it has all the ingredients for an event that feels like a genuine reward.

Hyde & Seek, London Hyde Park

Set just moments from Hyde Park, Hyde & Seek London Hyde Park, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, brings something a little different to London’s corporate hotel scene.

Located at 1 Lancaster Gate, the hotel combines its Victorian townhouse setting with bold, contemporary interiors and a much more playful personality than you might expect from a traditional central London property.

For delegates, the location is a major plus. Lancaster Gate Underground station is nearby, while Paddington is within walking distance, providing convenient connections across London as well as direct Elizabeth line services towards Heathrow.

The hotel has 309 bedrooms and suites, making it suitable for residential corporate groups alongside meetings and smaller events.

Hyde & Seek is particularly well suited to events that don’t need enormous conference facilities.

The hotel offers three flexible meeting rooms, with approximately 89 sq m of dedicated meeting space. Its largest formal meeting room accommodates up to 18 guests, making the property a strong option for board meetings, leadership sessions, workshops and smaller team gatherings.

There’s also HydeOut, a naturally lit courtyard café and co-working space which can be used more flexibly for networking, hospitality, registration, private dining and receptions.

Food and drink are another part of the experience, with HydeOut joined by Seekers Restaurant & Bar, giving groups spaces to move into after meetings without needing to immediately leave the hotel.

It’s central, distinctive and a little less conventional — ideal if you want your London event to feel different from the standard corporate hotel experience.

The Palace Madrid

Next stop, Madrid.

Standing in the heart of the Spanish capital since 1912, The Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Madrid combines more than a century of history with the facilities required for modern corporate events.

Following an extensive restoration, the hotel entered a new chapter in 2025 as part of Marriott’s Luxury Collection.

Its location is one of its biggest strengths. Sitting on Plaza de las Cortes, the hotel is surrounded by some of Madrid’s best-known cultural attractions, including the Prado Museum and Retiro Park, giving organisers plenty of opportunities to build delegate experiences around the main event programme.

With 470 rooms and suites, it also has the accommodation capacity required for sizeable residential events. The hotel offers 21 flexible meeting and event spaces and more than 3,700 sq m of event facilities, with larger configurations capable of hosting up to 500 guests. That means there’s room for everything from smaller executive meetings and breakout sessions to conferences, exhibitions, product launches, receptions and gala dinners.

Espacio Palace is one of the property’s largest and most flexible event areas, combining several spaces to create a setting capable of hosting up to 500 attendees.

Other options include the Neptuno room, suitable for events of up to 285 guests, alongside a collection of smaller spaces for more intimate meetings and gatherings. And then there’s the setting itself.

The hotel’s famous stained-glass dome sits above La Cúpula Restaurant & Bar, creating an impressive backdrop for dining and networking, while 27 Club provides a more intimate option for cocktails and post-event drinks.

For an international programme where the venue needs to make an impression from the moment delegates arrive, The Palace certainly delivers plenty of character.
