This assignment - for the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) - brought together senior police leaders and third sector professionals from across England and Wales to tackle one of the most pressing challenges in safeguarding - the strategic disruption of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE).

The Challenge
What we had to do
We undertook full project management of the event, supporting them with finding the venue - for the main conference, as well as overflow bedrooms.
We had to build the event’s registration page, supplied delegate badges, liaised with the venue and suppliers and planned a three-course dinner with refreshments.
With Brighter Connect’s skills at problem solving on-site, we worked with delegates and the venue to ensure all rooming lists were correct and everyone had a room that they should have!
We supported the customer with weekly calls, as well as providing consistent communication and regular updates for the event.

The result
Solving problems!
The Brighter Connect team had to move swiftly to find extra, last-minute accommodation – not easy in a very busy city centre.
We had to work around other last-minute changes as the remote speaker's diary changed so we had to alter the day and time they were on the screen.
The team also made sure all presentation slides and techon-site were perfect, rather than our customer having to worry about it.
The agenda also amended on the day so we needed to ensure 230 new versions were printed and distributed as well as ensuring there was a recording of the event – we were told this on the day!
We arranged an ‘office’ for our customer so they could continue with meetings and carry on what they needed to do while we ran the event on-site.
All delegate communications - to let people know where they needed to be and where - were handled by us and we also ensured the rooming lists, accessibility and dietaries were taken care of.
Thanks to Brighter Connect’s mission to save money for our customers – while not compromising on quality events – we negotiated the best rates with the venues as well as enhancing commission so no management fees were added.
Website prices were reduced, our project management costs were competitive after we quoted against another agency. We also ensured the customer avoided some cancellation charges.
It was a hugely successful event where we saved our customer money and time – another example of how the Brighter Connect team can make such a positive, drama-free impact on an event.
